Stefanie Kirkland received her BFA in Surface Pattern Design with a concentration in Art History from Syracuse University and her MFA from Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA. She has also studied abroad with Syracuse University in Florence, Italy and American University in Corciano, Italy. Trained as a Textile Designer, she has moved back and forth from hand dyed materials to traditional techniques of painting.
Stefanie's work has been exhibited nationally in both public and private collections, such as the Las Vegas New Mexico Arts Council and the Arts Student League in New York City. Recent awards include Best of Show at Las Vegas New Mexico Arts Council's Annual Show, Faces of Women, in 2002, and Honorable Mention in Faces of Women in both 2003 and 2004. She has shown at Royale Café, Design Lines Gallery in San Francisco, and had a solo exhibition in Oakland, CA in 2004. She currently has work on display at the Centre Gallery with Art Dimensions in St. Louis.
In addition to exhibiting her own work, Stefanie has coordinated exhibitions in Italy, San Francisco and Oakland. She has also been a visiting artist at Art Dimensions in St. Louis, teaching a workshop in printmaking and collage. She is currently Exhibitions Coordinator at Craft Alliance in St. Louis.
